The Library physically sits in the centre of the school, it shares a “block” with English.

It is a large space on two levels that incorporates a range of fiction and non-fiction texts. It has space for interventions, study and quiet reading. The space is used for multiple activities at the same time and is in use throughout the entire day.

Within the space there is access to ICT and we have a number of literacy intervention laptops.

It is run by the Librarian, alongside our Library Assistant and HLTA for literacy. There is also a student lead, Change and Create “library team”.

Throughout the year the library hosts house competitions, events, book sales and author visits. The Library team also make sure there are plenty of recommended reads and provide guidance and support to students who wish to use the space.
