Chew Valley Autumn Showcase 2018

This year’s major concert was, as expected a highly entertaining and professional school event. All year groups were represented with a particularly pleasing amount of new to the school, year 7 participants. They, and the others braved a performance in front of a fabulous audience of family and friends totalling nearly 200. The hall was packed!

Some outstanding performances across many genres and styles included the near famous “Resound” choir, expertly directed from the piano by Joan Green. As well as this there were several solo vocal acts, the pinnacle of which may well have been a beautifully sung “Pie Jesu” by Olivia Coombs. The year 10 rock band, “Exit 16”, delivered yet another accomplished set and the evening was closed in style by the school soul band “Soul Doubt”, playing numbers by Ashford and Simpson, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles. Everyone else involved should also feel proud of what was achieved that night. Check out the same space next year!
