Year 10 Rugby - The Future is Bright, the Future is Green
The Year 10 rugby team have started the season in fine fettle. Staring with a tricky fixture away to Wellsway, the score was 12-12 with Ben Jones and Adrian Davies crossing the line and George Worle converting the one kick. Henry Harper was man of the match. In the Daily Mail Cup, against Prior Park School in Bath we won 22-7 with Connor Kendall scoring two and Henry Harper and Miles Moorhouse scoring one each, with Miles converting one of the kicks. Connor Kendall and Miles Moorhouse were joint man of the match. Luke Treneman and Jake Rogers were outstanding in both games while Ben Walsh played particularly well against Prior Park.
The lads followed this up with a 31-14 victory in their first home game, against Writhlington. Ben Walsh scored two tries, whilst Henry Harper, Luke Treneman and Adrian Davies also crossed the line. George Worle added 3 conversions. Jovi Belcher put in a star performance.
Three players - Miles Moorhouse, Henry Harper and Connor Kendall - have been selected to play for Bristol District in Pontypool on Monday evening. However, the really impressive aspect of the Chew Valley side is the teamwork and dedication of each individual towards the common cause. They can look forward with excitement to an excellent season.
