Year 12
A very successful Yr 12 Community Sports Leadership course began with 12 students completing their first aid training at the beginning of the month. They were also joined by 9 Basic Expedition Leaders. The Yr 12 students will be taking control of the Year 2 Tag Tails festival which is at the beginning of December.
Year 10
50 Year 10 Junior Sports Leaders fought with the wind and rain to run a very successful Year 3 & 4 hockey festival for 166 students. Thanks go to Fry’s hockey club for providing extra sticks so that we could cope with the large number all at once. At the end of this month another 40 – 50 students will again be braving the bad weather to run the Yr 5 & 6 Tag Rugby tournament in conjunction with Chew Valley Rugby Club.
Year 7
Ten Yr 7 students completed their Young Leader training this month. This training began back in June and gets the students to think about the planning and preparation that goes into organising events. The training culminated in each pair planning and leading a session to the rest of the group to demonstrate the skills they have learnt during the 4 training session. The students are now primed and ready to help organise intra-tutor challenges with their head of year.
