No Smoking Campaign Winner

March 9th 2010 was No Smoking Day.  To mark the event a competition was held across Bath and North East Somerset to design a poster or produce a 30 second media clip that may influence somebody to stop smoking.  Students were encouraged to use gentle persuasion and encouragement to inspire people to make a positive change in their lives.

The entries to the competition were of a very high standard and winners were announced in a number of categories - most artistic, most factual, most eye catching, most effective message, most creative, best design and overall favourite.

We were very proud when the list of winners was announced and Amelia Sommer (8W) had won the overall favourite category.   She attended an award ceremony at the Guildhall in Bath and received her award (and a prize of £50 of WH Smith vouchers) from the Vice-Chairman of the Council, Councillor Peter Edwards.  The school will also receive a prize of £100 of teaching materials.

Congratulations Amelia!
