Year 7 B&NES Cricket Final

After a successful run in the league, the Year 7 cricket team played against Wellsway in the BANES final at the Bath Rec.  Chew won the toss and put Wellsway into bat first, the unbeaten Keynsham outfit went onto make a decent 78 runs with Henry Worle, Will Hosier and Will Heath all taking wickets. Chew came out strongly at the start of their innings and Will Hosier resisted some awkward spin bowling early on.  However, after eight overs Chew had only managed to score 39 runs and desperately needed to pick up the run rate. This led to some hasty decision making and a few run-outs and it wasn’t until a partnership of 26 between Brett Davidge and Will Heath that Chew had a fighting chance to win.  Unfortunately it turned out to be too late as Chew finished with a total of 65 runs. Although we lost the game the boys played fantastically well and the future certainly looks bright!
