Get ready for Energy Week

Turbine

The Energy Team is planning an action-packed Energy Week beginning March 1st to raise awareness of the school’s electricity consumption. We aim to reduce our energy use by 10% in 2010, and we hope that students and parents will share our commitment to achieving this goal.

The School will join together in learning about Energy and sustainable alternatives for the future. Students will have the opportunity to work together on an Art Project exploring inventions to save energy, and see films like ‘The Age of Stupid’ and Al Gore’s ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ during lunchtimes. Energy will also be incorporated into the curriculum across subjects to give lessons an engaging twist.

The most exciting event in Energy Week will be our Earth Hour: one hour, no power. All lights, computers and projectors will be turned off for Period 6. We will be able to monitor the results via the live feed on the ‘Wind Turbine Project’ page of the school website.

We look forward to your support!
