Bristol Zoo visit Chew!
Several remote corners of the world landed at Chew Valley School on Tuesday as Bristol Zoo arrived. Snakes tasted the air, domesticated rats climbed on shoulders and cockroaches dribbled on people. The members of staff from the Zoo were fearless: they picked up the animals without even a look of mild disgust. Year 8 were caught in the moment.
Everyone brave enough handled a cockroach. There were some squeals but mostly students were undaunted by the prospect of holding the insects. Next came the snake, a beautiful python with varing shades of brown and white scales. Finally, two grey rats with pink tails that semed to love climbing around on the shoulders of the Zoo staff. It was a great experience for Year 8.
