BBC Visit

Our Creative & Media Diploma group recently went to BBC Bristol for a behind-the-scenes tour. We had a great time and had the chance to do some really practical things. We went into the News West Studio, recorded our own radio play and had a shout out on the Peter Rowell afternoon show – as he was interviewing John Michie, an actor who plays Robbie Ross in Taggart. We also had to practise reading the news using autocue which was much harder than it looks! Finally, we looked around the news room and met the researchers, directors and weather presenters. It was exciting to meet them in person and talk about their jobs and how they got involved with the BBC. Everyone was really friendly and very helpful. Mr Conway even got to give the weather forecast in front of Richard Angwin's map!

It was a great day and we all learned lots about the media world.
